At this time it is necessary for the people of faith to stand together as one man in order to appeal to heaven for guidance.
Each person is a unique individual that has a calling and a place that they must step up to for their family, their community, their state and their nation. If we stand together once again our nation will become the kind of society that reflects the foundations it was built on.
I believe God. This world is His creation and He is in control. He is always looking for ordinary people to use in extra ordinary ways. People who are willing to listen and obey. He has called me to the position of Governor of the State of Colorado and yes, I believe, "You have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You." Jeremiah 32:17
The governor is like the rudder of a ship. It guides the course and action according to the captain's orders. The rudder is small compared to the vessel but without it the boat is driven and tossed by the wind.
To accomplish the mission of governing a state, the governor must respond compassionately and justly to the people. As the governor I am committed to being honest, having integrity, using common sense, being fiscally conservative with the tax payers money, eliminating wasteful spending, seeking good counsel, working with others to achieve results and I acknowledge my dependence upon God. If we humble ourselves and follow Him with our whole hearts He will bless Colorado with abundance.
As I listen to Colorado's citizens this is what I hear:
Education - local control, oversight, and authority
Taxes and Fees - too high, too many - too much waste of tax payer money - misappropriated, being used for purposes other than those for which they were collected
Business - too many regulations and taxes
Laws - must be constitutional, should be enforced according to the intent of the law (illegal means illegal)
Bills from legislature - unintended consequences when not thought out (medical marijuana)
Family - state regulations need to support the traditional families not undermine them
Guns - rights are given to us by the US Constitution for the defense of liberty
Equal opportunity needs to be what it says - regardless of faith, color, gender or ethinicty - no preferential treatment for particular groups
Respect for human life - from conception to natural death
Faith - freedom to express all faiths - not tolerance for all faiths except Christianity
Federal government money - if it has strings attached, just say no
Government jobs - should not compete with the private sector
Social Services - from a bibical view point this is the job of the body of Christ not the government
